Introducing HobbyDoor: Hobby Classes at Home, Safety by Design

By the HobbyDoor team3 min read

It’s 5:30 on a weekday evening. Your child has finished homework and wants to go to pottery class. The academy is 40 minutes away in traffic. You leave work early, wait in the car for an hour, and drive back in more traffic. By Thursday, everyone is too tired to go.

Most parents we speak to want the same thing: for their children to find something they love outside the classroom, whether that’s painting, dance, music or chess. What stops them is rarely interest. It’s time, travel, and a quiet worry about who is teaching their child.

Meet HobbyDoor

HobbyDoor brings verified hobby instructors to your home, so your child can learn in the place they feel most comfortable. You pick the hobby and a time, and a trained instructor arrives at your door with everything the class needs.

We started HobbyDoor as a family. Our founding team brings together business, technology and child psychology. We kept asking one question: why should learning a hobby be harder to organise than ordering groceries? And why should convenience ever come at the cost of a child’s safety?

HobbyDoor is our answer to both.

Safety by design

Inviting someone into your home is a matter of trust, so safety isn’t a feature we added later. It shapes how HobbyDoor works.

  • Verified instructors. Every instructor passes identity checks, police verification, reference checks and a demo class before taking a booking.
  • Every class accounted for. Instructors check in and out by GPS, share timestamped photos of the class setup, and write a short report after every session.
  • Your privacy, protected. We never record audio or video of classes. Your phone number stays hidden from instructors, and your address is shared only once you confirm a booking.
  • Built for children. We collect the minimum about your child, never show them ads, and never sell anyone’s data. Our class guidelines are shaped by child psychology.

That’s what our tagline means: hobby at home, safety by design.

So many hobbies, one door

Children change their minds, and that’s how they discover what they love. With HobbyDoor, trying something new doesn’t mean looking for a new tutor. We offer pottery, painting, drawing and sketching, music, singing, dance, yoga, cooking, chess, karate, judo, crochet and knitting, with more to come.

Booking takes a few minutes:

  1. 1Choose a hobby and see verified instructors near you, with their skills and reviews.
  2. 2Pick a time that suits your family: a single class to try it out, or a package for regular learning.
  3. 3Pay securely online and get reminders on WhatsApp.
  4. 4Your instructor arrives, checks in, and the class begins in your living room.
  5. 5After class, you receive a short report on what your child learned.

Starting close to home

We’re launching in Greater Noida. We’re growing one society at a time, with instructors who live nearby and families who recommend them. Growing slowly lets us get every class right before we move on to the next neighbourhood.
